The local nonprofit BronxWorks is hosting their annual 5K Fun Run/Walk Monster Mash Hunger Dash at Orchard Beach on Saturday, October 19, to raise funds for BronxWorks programs fighting food insecurity in the Bronx. The public is welcome to attend and encouraged to dress up in their best costume. Tickets are available for purchase for individuals, children, and families. Participants are also invited to fundraise for the event and incentives are available for top fundraisers. Early bird pricing is available until October 10, and fundraising will close on Saturday, October 26.
BronxWorks is one of the largest social services organizations in the Bronx, providing more than 60,000 New Yorkers each year with health, housing, education, youth development, immigration, workforce, older adults, and benefits services at over 60 Bronx locations. The BronxWorks 5K event will support food pantries held at several BronxWorks locations.
